You may or may not know that I home educated my children for a grand total of 30 years and in that time I was often delighted by their own ideas for learning activities 🥰

In fact, my most popular FREE resource is based on an idea that my son came up with as an activity for our local HE group Harry Potter themed session. He was just 12 years old at the time and usually didn't enjoy writing much at all 🙂

Like a lot of kids of that age, he was a bit (a lot) of a Harry Potter fan and had decided to learn a little Latin after discovering that many of the spells were derived from it. Consequently, he became very enthusiastic about making up his own spells using Latin vocabulary and came up with the idea of a 'Create your own spell' worksheet. I've used his basic idea (with his permission, of course) and tweaked the design a little so that you can enjoy it with your own children. 🥰

Of course, I was overjoyed that my reluctant writer (and drawer) had found inspiration to put pen to paper...and was even more chuffed for him when it went down well at the group session too. They all had fun drawing, writing and flicking the wands that they had made that day 🥰
